Blue Toad Murder Files (PSN) Sound design examples
In my capacity as sound designer on this game I was responsible for all the sound effects relating to the GUI of the puzzles, map and front end for the first two episodes of this PSN title. Through the sound I tried to convey to the player the feeling that they were in the mechanical age, giving most of the sounds some clockwork or mechanical component while trying to use them within a game sound context
‘Trivial Pursuit’ Game play
During my time on this project I was responsible for engineering recording, editing and processing of Voice Over sessions in order to balance the commentary with the sound effects and music.
I also provided additional sound effects for text banners, fireworks and player icons as well as the sound design for EA Trivial pursuit button at the start of this movie
‘Zubo’ Battle move animations
My roles on this project included the creation, balancing and integration of sound effects and emotes for the in game battle animations for this Nintendo DS rhythm based action title.
‘Boxed’ Animation
For this short animation I was responsible for all aspects of the sound desing and music editing.
I tried to emphasise the schizophrenia tension within the narrative by exploiting sounds that are conventionally considered agitating. Such sounds include the police siren, construction work and the white noise from the TV.
In contrast with this, I used the low humming of the fridge in the flat to reinfore the isolation of the main character in the flat. Through the use of the music I alluded to the mental decline of the character from isoloated to his final delusion
